I'm renting — can I get help, and what if my landlord won't cooperate?
Renting in Taiwan as a foreigner comes down to two questions: what financial help you can get, and what to do when a landlord blocks you. The rent subsidy is open to most renters including ARC holders; social housing requires a Taiwanese-national applicant. And by law a landlord cannot stop you from claiming the rent subsidy. 公営住宅（賃貸住宅）申請
政府が建設または取得した公営住宅は、住宅問題を解決するために、資格のある恵まれない家庭や一般家庭に市場価格よりも低い家賃で貸し出される。
