What is the Early Employment Assistance Subsidy?
It's an incentive payment to encourage those receiving unemployment benefits to find employment earlier. If you find new employment and meet the eligibility requirements before your unemployment benefits run out, you can receive a one-time subsidy.
Eligibility
Meet the unemployment benefit eligibility requirements
Be employed before the unemployment benefit eligibility period expires
After finding new employment, participate in employment insurance for at least 3 months as required.
Subsidy Amount
A one-time payment of 50% of the outstanding unemployment benefits
In other words, the earlier you find employment, the more remaining benefits you can receive, and the larger the subsidy.
How to Apply
Apply after finding new employment and participating in employment insurance for at least 3 months.
Complete the application form and submit it to the Labor Insurance Bureau, Ministry of Labor (can be mailed or submitted in person).
Required Documents
Early Employment Assistance Subsidy Application Form and Payment Receipt, National Identification Card, and a copy of your domestic bank account passbook.
