What is the Vocational Training Living Allowance?

To assist unemployed new immigrants in enhancing their job competitiveness, the government provides a "Vocational Training Living Allowance." This ensures new immigrants have basic living security during their training, allowing them to fully dedicate themselves to skills learning.

Subsidy Standard

  • Amount: NT$12,000 per month.

  • Duration: Calculated based on the number of hours in the vocational training course, with a maximum duration of 6 months.

Application Requirements

  1. Identity Restriction: New immigrants holding a valid residence permit (including foreign nationals and spouses from mainland China).

  2. Course Requirements: Participation in vocational training (full-time or specific classes) organized or commissioned by any branch of the Workforce Development Agency.

  3. Attendance Rate: Attendance rate during the training period must reach 80% or higher.

How to Apply?

  1. Course Selection: Visit the "Taiwan Jobs" website to find courses eligible for the vocational training living allowance.

  2. Application Submission: Submit your allowance application to the organizing unit simultaneously when registering for the vocational training course.

  3. Approval and Disbursement: After approval by the branch office, funds will be disbursed monthly to the designated account.

Important Reminder

  • You must be "unemployed" (not insured for full-time work) at the time of application.

  • If you withdraw from the training midway or are forced to withdraw due to personal reasons, the allowance will cease, and any amounts already received may be recovered.

A: This subsidy is primarily for new immigrants who are currently unemployed. Those who already have full-time jobs with social security benefits are generally not eligible to apply.
