What is the Public Kindergarten Tuition Reduction?
For children attending public kindergartens, tuition is significantly subsidized by the government. Parents only need to pay approximately NT$1,000 to NT$3,000 per semester (including miscellaneous fees). Compared to private kindergartens, which often cost NT$15,000 to NT$25,000 per month, the savings are substantial.

How to Get into a Public Kindergarten?
Enrollment quotas are announced by each county/city in April and May each year.
Parents register their children at the school district or the public kindergarten they wish to attend.
If there are insufficient places, admission is determined by lottery.
Disadvantaged families (low-income, lower-middle-income, and families with children with disabilities usually have reserved places and are given priority admission.
Important Notes
Public kindergarten places are limited and competition is fierce. It is recommended to understand the enrollment regulations of each school in advance.
Attending a public kindergarten does not qualify for childcare subsidies.
Some counties/cities offer "kindergarten enrollment subsidies," which low-income families can apply for as additional subsidies.
Lunch fees, transportation costs, and other non-tuition expenses need to be calculated separately.
