What is the Pre-Registration Medical Assistance for New Immigrants?
The New Taipei City Government Health Bureau provides the "Pre-Registration Medical Assistance" to care for new immigrants who have not yet obtained an ID card and are unable to participate in National Health Insurance. It aims to alleviate the heavy medical burden incurred by new immigrants during their waiting period for citizenship due to unexpected accidents or illnesses.
Assistance Standards
Assistance Items: Hospitalization, emergency room visits, or sudden medical expenses due to injury or illness.
Assistance Amount: Assistance is verified based on actual out-of-pocket medical expenses, with a maximum of NT$10,000 per person per year.
Application Requirements
Identity Requirements: New immigrants (including spouses from mainland China) who are married to a citizen registered in New Taipei City and hold a valid residence permit.
Restrictions: Those who have not yet met the eligibility requirements for National Health Insurance (or have not yet obtained citizenship).
Residence Requirements: Must actually reside in New Taipei City.

Notes
Applications for subsidies usually need to be submitted within a certain period after the medical procedure (e.g., 3 months).
If other emergency relief or insurance claims have already been received, the subsidy amount will be deducted accordingly.
