What is the Overseas Empowerment Program?

This program aims to encourage new immigrant families and their second-generation children to return to their motherland, strengthening their language skills and multicultural advantages through immersive cultural learning. This is not a typical travel subsidy, but an educational empowerment program.

Subsidy Details

  • Subsidy Amount:

  • Family Group: Up to NT$80,000 per group (parents and children traveling together).

  • Youth Group: Up to NT$100,000 per person (second-generation immigrants aged 18-35).

  • Included Expenses: Round-trip airfare (actual cost), daily living allowance, and insurance.

Suggested Learning Themes

Applicants must submit a proposal. Common themes include:

  • Mother Tongue Learning: Studying the language at local schools or institutions.

  • Cultural Exploration: Exploring local traditional crafts, festivals, or social development.

  • Corporate Internship: Observing and interning at local Taiwanese-owned or well-known companies.

A: Simply visiting relatives is not eligible. The plan must include specific learning objectives, such as mother tongue learning, cultural experience, or community service, and a plan document must be submitted for review.

Q: Do I have to stay for a long time after applying?

A: The usual requirement is that the stay overseas must be at least 7 days (inclusive) and the trip must be completed within the time limit approved by the plan.

Q: Do I need to submit a report after returning to China?

A: Yes, a final report and relevant expenditure receipts must be submitted upon project completion before the funding can be reimbursed.
