What is the Taichung City Birth Incentive Payment?
In response to the declining birth rate, the Taichung City Government has established a birth incentive payment program to encourage residents to have children and ease the initial financial burden on newborn families.

Who Can Apply?
- At the time of birth, at least one parent is already registered in Taichung City
- The newborn completes Taichung City household registration after birth
- Application is submitted within the specified deadline (usually within 6 months of birth)
How to Apply
- Prepare: infant's household registration booklet, parent's ID, applicant's bank account booklet cover
- Apply at the Social Affairs Section of your District Office or Taichung City Department of Social Welfare
- Inquiries via the official website or 1999 city hotline
- Funds are deposited after approval
Important Notes
- This incentive can be combined with the central government birth allowance
- Apply early to avoid missing the deadline
- Twins and multiples are each counted separately by birth order
