What is the Taipei City Birth Incentive Payment?
To encourage residents to have children, the Taipei City Government provides a one-time cash incentive for newborn families who meet the household registration requirements. The amount increases with each child, up to NT$50,000.

Who Can Apply?
All of the following must be met:
- At the time of birth, at least one parent is already registered in Taipei City
- The newborn completes birth registration and registers in Taipei City
- Application is submitted within the deadline (usually within 6 months of birth)
How to Apply
- Prepare documents: infant's household registration booklet, parent's ID, bank account booklet cover
- Apply at the Household Registration Office or District Office Social Welfare Section for your registered address
- Online applications are also available via the Taipei City Department of Social Welfare website
- After approval, the incentive is deposited directly into the applicant's account
Important Notes
- Twins or multiple births each count separately and can each be applied for individually
- Application deadlines follow the annual announcement from the Department of Social Welfare
- This incentive can be combined with the central government birth allowance
- Special circumstances such as infant death or miscarriage are handled per applicable regulations
